Zapping Zombies!
The girls are going to need your help to overcome this apocalypse of the undead but before you start spinning the reels you’ll need to decide how you want to bet. The 5 reels contain a maximum of 25 paylines. However, these are flexible and you can reduce the number in play by using the toggle buttons on the bottom of the screen. You’ll also need to decide how much you want to wager per payline in play; the entry point is 0.01 and this can be increased up to 5.00, which is the usual range for RTG games. When multiplied by the full 25 paylines it provides a total min bet of 0.25 or a total max bet of 125.00.
If you’re still not sure about how much to wager then take a look at the paytable. It’s not the prettiest one you’ll ever find, covered with blood-spattered zombies but you can find out how much you could win. Other than the scatter, you’ll need at least three matching symbols in order to win but the more you line up the bigger your prize will be. You’ll be playing with a medium variance and an RTP of 91-97%.
Bigger and Better
One of the criticisms of the original game was that there was very little to boost the basic play other than some free spins. The good news is that RTG have taken this feedback on board and with this version they’ve added some bonus play features which are not just money spinners, but genuinely inventive too. On the base game, you’ll still find the wilds and scatters which can help to bump up the core payouts. The wilds step in for other symbols on the reels while the scatter give both a scatter win, plus unlock the bonus feature when three or more land on the board.
Once the bonus rounds are unlocked players will have the choice of either opting for Zombies Gone Wild Free Spins or the Cheerleader Escape Feature. In the former, the play is very similar to the original with free spins awarded which can be retriggered prolonging the round. A special paytable comes into force with the free spins and this hands out higher prizes than what you’d normally receive. An alternative to playing the free spins is to opt for the Cheerleader Escape game. This is essentially a Pick Me feature where you’ll have six levels to work your way through. On each level there are three different doors which could contain either a prize, an exit to the next level up or a zombie. Your job is to collect as many prizes as you can without revealing the zombie which ends the feature. If you make it right to the top you’ll receive an extra multiplier as an additional prize.

If you thought the notion of cheerleaders tackling zombies was faintly ridiculous (if very enjoyable!) there’s another similar themed game which takes it even further. Plants vs Zombies is another from the horror genre, and while it has the same type of comic book style graphics it lacks the blood dripping gore.
