Easter Surprise takes players outside to enjoy the weather and celebrate Easter in style.
The aesthetics of the game are worth mentioning. Do not expect impressive graphics, but instead a colourful country landscape with green, rolling hills in the background. Clearly visible through the transparent reels, the background of Easter Surprise is enough to put players in a good mood.
If the game is probably not going to revolutionise the genre, Playtech did a great job creating a pleasant and simple universe with few elements. Which gives players enough leeway to concentrate on the gameplay, which is the focus of the next section.
Egg-citing times
Easter Surprise follows a classic gameplay pattern that most players are familiar with. For first timers, learning the rules is no hard task either.
The game contains five reels of three symbols each, with 20 different paylines available on screen. You need to line up winning combinations of symbols on activated paylines in order to gather cash rewards. The command bar at the bottom of the screen is there to let you adjust your game settings before you set the reels into motion. Use the various switches to activate or deactivate paylines and to modify your bet per line and coin value. The Bet Max shortcut lets you go all-in with all paylines activated in a single click of your mouse. Hit Spin to start your turn. After each win, you can try your luck with a simple Gambling game that can double your winnings.
If you would rather place several bets in a row, use the Autostart mode. The reels will spin on their own, with your bet settings kept constant for as long as you wish. You can come back to the regular play mode at any time, if you want to change your bet settings for instance.
Cracking good fun
The paytable of Easter surprise contains eight basic symbols in total, and probably not as many Easter Eggs as you would have thought.
The five first symbols are indeed card icons, from number 10 to the Ace. The come is purple and orange, with a tiny green bow. Besides this original design, they have conserved their usual attributes: low payouts and high frequency of appearance on the reels.
This leaves us with just three different Easter Eggs left on the basic menu. These Eggs are heavily painted and covered in colourful symbols such as starts, chicks and squiggly lines of all shapes and colours. The Eggs look quite stunning, and they also bring more sizeable rewards to the table, if you can line them up on activated paylines during your game.
Bunny friends
The three last symbols of Easter Surprise bring an unexpected twist to the game’s narrative, which takes the shape of extra cash rewards for the lucky players.
The Eastern Bunny is the Wild card of the list, able to substitute for any of the basic symbols we mentioned earlier. Bunny combinations are also the most valuable of the entire game.
The game’s Logo act as a Scatter. It only needs to show up on the reels, on any position, to trigger a cash prize. From three Logos, you also get to enjoy ten Free Spins with a generous x3 Multiplier applied to all the following rewards.
Three or more Wicker Basket symbols trigger the Easter Egg Bonus you were probably waiting for. On this separate screen, you will meet a rabbit holding a basking that contains six Easter Eggs.
