Pragmatic Play is kicking off the holiday season with a new title, Christmas Carol Megaways, based on the classic Charles Dickens’ tale of the redemption of the Christmas despising Ebenezer Scrooge.
Victorian London provides the setting for the 6-reel Megaways grid where 10-A card values and the main characters, including the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come are joined by Scrooge’s clerk, Bob Cratchit, along with Tiny Tim.
Of course, the experience would not be complete without Ebenezer Scrooge, the cold-hearted miser who owns a London counting house and serves as the high volatility game’s Wild in this 200,704 ways to win video slot. The miserly protagonist appears on the bonus reel, replacing any of the pay symbols for winning combinations.
Each winning combination triggers a cascade of symbols, which all shatter into pieces of ice and are replaced with new symbols, making it possible for any spin to lead to multiple wins. The extra games feature is triggered by landing four or more of Scrooge’s gold pocket watches, which represent the scatter symbol in the game.
Players are then able to select their extra spins and starting multiplier, or go commando and choose a mystery option. Will they choose the higher starting multiplier and low spins, or attempt to increase their multiplier through additional spins?
The bonus round sees every win trigger a tumbling feature while also increasing the multiplier by 1x, which stays through the final spin of the extra games mode.
What’s more, depending on the jurisdiction the game is being played in, there is a “buy bonus” feature, where for a set price players are taken directly to the extra games mode.
Commenting on the new holiday addition, Vice President at Pragmatic Play, Lena Yasir, said in a company press release…
“Christmas lights and Christmas trees are starting to go up in households all over the world and we can’t wait for one of the most magical times of the year, so we’re inviting you to join in with Christmas Carol Megaways™.
“With a widely recognisable and a potentially lucrative Bonus Round, our Christmas hit will have players hoping the magic of the season never ends.”
Christmas Carol Megaways is Pragmatic Play’s latest title to offer the popular Megaways game engine, which is used under license from Big Time Gaming (BTG), following the August release, Curse of the Werewolf Megaways.
The Gibraltar and Malta headquartered developer currently produces up to five new slot titles a month as well as adding to its live casino and bingo verticals.
