American casino operator Penn National Gaming Incorporated has announced the signing of a deal that is to give it ‘second skin’ access to any future New York mobile sportsbetting and iGaming market.

The Wyomissing-headquartered firm used an official Monday press release to detail that the 20-year arrangement was inked with the Capital Region Gaming enterprise of compatriot Rush Street Gaming, which is responsible for the 165-room Rivers Casino and Resort Schenectady. As such and the company declared that its Penn Interactive subsidiary will now be looking to supply iGaming aficionados in ‘The Empire State’ with access to its Barstool Sports-branded mobile sportsbetting app should local lawmakers pass the appropriate legislation and consequently grant it pertinent ‘regulatory approvals.’

Increasing influence:

Jon Kaplowitz serves as the Interactive Gaming Senior Vice-President for Penn National Gaming Incorporated and he explained that his firm already offers mobile sports wagering services to punters in Michigan and Pennsylvania and expects to have introduced its Barstool Sports-branded app into ten states by the end of this year. He moreover stated that New York could quickly become ‘one of the nation’s most lucrative sportsbetting markets’ should legislators decide to legalize the activity under an ‘open competition and free market approach.’

Lucrative likelihood:

Penn National Gaming Incorporated furthermore pronounced that it debuted a Barstool-branded online casino app for players in Michigan some three weeks ago and that this fresh innovation subsequently went on to generate impressive local handle of around $27.5 million from over 48,000 new customers after only ten days.

We remain very confident in our ability to win sizable share in new markets based on the power of the Barstool brand and media assets, which allows us to begin to leverage the meaningful cross-sell opportunities from the Barstool sportsbook, iCasino and our mychoice loyalty program audiences.”
