Microgaming enhances BTG partnership via new Megaways deal

Australian entertainment company Big Time Gaming (BTG) has enhanced its partnership with Microgaming via a deal that will see its trademarked Megaways mechanic utilized by the Isle of Man-based software provider in a number of future games.

A joint effort between Microgaming and its network of independent game studios will work to integrate the innovative mechanic into new titles that are set to join the provider’s platform. The first game to deploy the Megaways advance is Shamrock Holmes, an online video slot slated for January 2021 rollout across the network.

Planned integration:

In a company press release, Chief Executive Officer for Microgaming, John Coleman commented on the new deal with partner BTG…

John Coleman CEO at Microgaming said…

“Megaways™ has had huge success and we’re excited to be integrating the mechanic into some of our future games. Big Time Gaming are proven innovators, and we are delighted to extend our relationship with them and grow their presence on our platform.”

The Sydney-headquartered firm launched its Megaways solution in 2016 intent on increasing player engagement in online slots through a “dynamic, fast-paced gaming experience.” Employing a random reel modifier system enables any given spin to generate an “ever-changing number of symbols” across the grid. And by doing so players are able to experience a completely unique game every time with “hundreds of thousands” of possible win ways.

BTG “mission”:

Also commenting on the recently signed Megaways deal, Chief Executive Officer for Big Time Gaming, Nik Robinson, said…

“We’re on a mission to bring the Megaways™ revolution to a bigger audience, and they don’t come much bigger than Microgaming. These guys were industry pioneers and today they remain one of the biggest forces in the gaming space. As ardent slots fans, we’re delighted to be contributing in a small way to the Microgaming story.”

October slots launch:

Microgaming has been busy, with a succession of new slots from its network of independent game development studios hitting the market throughout the month of October. Included in the launch, the Aussie firm’s Royal Mint dropped on the 5th, while Microgaming operators and their players were gifted exclusive early access to BTG’s new vide slot Chocolates from October 12th. Another hit, The Final Countdown, which premiered in early 2019, will be available via the Microgaming platform from October 26.

German regulations:

Additionally, with Germany‘s new online gaming rules set to officially come into effect in July 2021, the provider is busy preparing a solution for its customers that is designed to comply with the new online slots licensing regime. According to Microgaming, a solution conforming with the German Toleration Regime will be launched by October 15, which will allow clients to be “technically ready” to enter the Western European country’s market “at the flick of a switch.”

Commercial Director for Microgaming, Leon Thomas, said…

“As a socially responsible business, Microgaming broadly supports the regulatory changes in Germany, where we will be providing our customers with a solution that includes some of our most popular and successful titles – long before the new gambling laws coming into force next year.”

The provider says it will make more than 150 games available to its customers in the market, including such popular titles as Book of Oz from Triple Edge Studios, 9 Masks of Fire from Gameburger Studios, and BTG’s, Bonanza.
